DAY 1

Breakfast at Amity Coffee Co.
Start with breakfast at this favorite local coffee shop in Downtown Penn Yan, known for their craft lattes and light fare. Their app makes it easy to order and pickup your breakfast to-go. Or enjoy their dog-friendly outdoor seating, in the nice weather.

Morning Walk Along Keuka Lake Outlet Trail
Head to the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail for a scenic stroll. This 7-mile long, wooded trail will take you from Downtown Penn Yan to Seneca Lake, past waterfalls, creeks, canal beds, and great scenery. Hike the full trail or choose a shorter path—even a small section offers plenty of charm.

Lunch and Shopping at The Windmill Farm & Craft Market
Visit The Windmill for over 175 vendors, indoor and outdoor stalls, and another chance for your dog to stretch their legs. Along with pet-friendly items, you’ll also find local culinary products, furniture, crafts, décor, clothing items, wine and beer, and sometimes even live entertainment. Check out their website for their food vendors – you’re sure to find one to fit your tastes!  Open Saturdays from the third Saturday in April through the last Saturday in November, plus Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Black Friday.

Cool Down at Keuka Lake State Park
In the later afternoon, relax at Keuka Lake State Park. Throw around a ball or take a dip in the lake and relax on the lawn as you take in lakeside views. Other great nearby options include Red Jacket Park or Indian Pines Park.

Dinner & Drinks at Seneca Stag Brewery
End the evening with dinner and a drink at Seneca Stag Brewery. They have a biergarten atmosphere and indoor/outdoor space that is all-around dog friendly. Enjoy a menu that brings you everything from Bavarian pretzels to seafood dip, pork schnitzel to fried Oreos, all while listening to live music and vibing with your four-legged best friend. Alternatively, Parker’s Grille in Penn Yan (with outdoor seating) is another good option.

Snuggle Up with the Pup
Book one of our great pet-friendly accommodations for your overnight. The Best Western Plus Vineyard Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, and Microtel by Wyndham are easy hotel options welcoming dogs. Or get creative with Yurts at Plum Point Lodge, or one of our local B&Bs: The Carriage House Loft at Laurentide Inn, Universal Friend Bed & Breakfast, or The Savannah House Cottages on Seneca Lake.

DAY 2

A Countryside Breakfast or Breakfast in Bed
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodging, if available, or head to Oak Leaf Café at Oak Hill Bulk Foods.  From savory quiches and sausage gravy over biscuits to a delicious and light parfait or smoothie, their daily breakfast selections will not disappoint. They have great coffee too – so grab your breakfast to go and sip your coffee outdoors in their picnic area while your pup has room to play.

Stroll the Paths at Saunders Finger Lakes Museum
Get acquainted with the wildlife native to our area, as well as learn about the history of the Finger Lakes at the Saunders Finger Lakes Museum. Pets are always welcome, and you can even browse around to learn more about their events and programs. The outdoor-style museum has plenty of trails to keep you and your pup busy all morning long.

Grab a Brew & a Bite at Abandon Brewing Co.
Stop by Abandon Brewing for lunch and a local brew. Enjoy their ample outdoor seating or find a seat in their cozy barn overlooking Keuka Lake.

Paws & Pours on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail
Then, take advantage of the Paws & Pours Digital Passport along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail. Purchase the pass on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail website and it’s delivered right to your phone! Visit up to six pet-friendly wineries for tastings (and treats!) and save on experiences while getting a little extra for your pup. Tastings on outdoor patios with panoramic lakeside views are a great way to spend a low-key afternoon. Most area wineries and breweries are pet-friendly, so the fun doesn’t have to end there.

Bonus Stop! Lunch at Seneca Farms
Grab something portable in Penn Yan or plan for a stop (in season) to Seneca Farms. This local favorite has a large menu of sandwiches, salads, sides, and sundaes… and outdoor pavilion seating that welcomes all.
