Day 1: Art, Culture, History

Explore the art and history scene of the Finger Lakes Countrysides

  • Begin your day with a visit to The Arts Center of Yates County. This gallery features work from local artists and offers workshops if you’re feeling creative. The Main Street Gallery features work from more than 150 local and regional artists.
  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast at a local café in Downtown Penn Yan like Milly’s Market & Cafe or Amity Coffee Co.
  • Visit the Yates County History Center to learn about the area’s rich past. The History Center is one of the oldest historical societies in the state. Open Tuesday-Friday only.
  • Despite the weather, you can still enjoy scenic rainy-day views of Keuka Lake. Take a ride down Route 54 along the east shore of the lake.
  • End your drive in Hammondsport where you can visit the historic Glenn H. Curtiss Museum. Discover the museum’s priceless collection of aviation and regional history.
  • Grab dinner in Hammondsport at The Switzerland Inn or a restaurant near your accommodation.

Day 2: Family Fun

Find indoor family fun for all ages!

  • Begin with breakfast at Oak Leaf Café, where the kids can dig into cinnamon French toast (with powdered sugar) and fruit smoothies! This local favorite offers a robust menu of breakfast and lunch items, as well as an espresso bar—making it a perfect stop for the whole family.
  • Then, head to Brock’s Bowl & Pizzeria and Arcade Center for a fun-filled day inside. Grab a few lanes for some friendly competition amongst the family, then let the kids enjoy the brand new arcade area. Indulge in hand-tossed pizza and fresh subs for lunch.
  • After an active afternoon, visit Lake Street Plaza Theatres to relax and catch a movie. This locally owned independent first-run cinema brings new releases to the big screen along with fresh buttered popcorn.
  • End the day with dinner at Seneca Farms. The kitchen has an extensive menu with their famous fried chicken, corn fritters, homemade salads, and more with a small area to dine in. Known for carrying over 50 homemade custards and hard ice cream along with milkshakes, sundaes, flurries, old fashioned soda ice cream floats, you can enjoy your day with a sweet treat that will leave everyone full—and fulfilled.

Day 2: Craft Beverages

Discover the region’s thriving craft beverage scene.

  • Embark on a craft beverage tour using the Craft Beverage Passport, sampling from breweries and distilleries, with cozy indoor spaces.
  • Have a leisurely lunch at a brewery or distillery that offers hearty meals like Laurentide Beer Company, serving great food specials daily or Seneca Stag Brewing Co. with its unique bites and hearty sandwiches.
  • After lunch, check out some of the wineries on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail or Seneca Lake Wine Trail and enjoy an indoor wine tasting at many various award-wining wineries with amazing vineyard or lake views, even from indoors. The scenic routes along the lake are beautiful even on a rainy day.
  • If you’re still hungry, grab dinner at 18th Amendment in Penn Yan. Named for the amendment that led to prohibition, 18th Amendment served an ever-changing menu made with vibrant, local ingredients.

Day 3: Shopping & Relaxation

Enjoy a final day filled with relaxation and shopping.
